Sr. Systems Administrator

Responsibilities:
- Provide systems administration, technical support, and end-user help desk support
- Deploy day-to-day imaging of systems per defined specifications
- Conduct patching and configuration management using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, and Red Hat Satellite
- Manage file systems, partitions, and other system reconfiguration and resource changes using LVM and disk utilities
- Support system backups
- Provide advanced technical support for customer environments and services
- Provide tier 2 and 3 supports for customer-reported issues and requests.
- Update, review and create customer documentation
- Execute Automation processes for Infrastructure setup (and maintaining processes)
- Setting up continuous build (CI/CD) environments to speed up software development and deployment.
- Collaborate with team to support the desktop users enterprise infrastructure and IT equipment
- Support Sr. System Administrator staff as needed with the development of automated methods for setting up and maintaining system configurations for customized configuration management, automation, and maintenance of Linux systems.
- Maintain and update documentation including standard operating procedures network drawings and configuration documentation
- Support software development teams in the installation maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of a variety of development tools (version control, integrated development environments, continuous integration tools, and collaboration tools) development libraries kernels, and hardware drivers.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat / CentOS variants of Linux to include system administration user management, security hardening, backup procedures, disk and file management, software, and kernel compilation and installation, and system troubleshooting
- Proven ability to quickly and effectively learn new technologies
- Strong teamwork experience self-motivated and organized.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server administration
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of Windows and Mac desktop administration
- Experience with tools for system imaging, system configuration, configuration management, and security auditing
- Experience with enterprise-grade networking virtualization storage and or backups
Qualifications and Background:
- AS/BS or equivalent in related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of applicable experience in a professional IT enterprise environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be willing to undergo an extensive background investigation
- May be required to hold and maintain a government security clearance
