About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The group has many software systems that process large volumes of data and generate actionable information, which are routinely utilized by external users.
There are a few requirements for the position:
- Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
- Reside within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts.
What You’ll Do:
As new research generates better answers, rapid and robust software systems are critical to the successful delivery of these software systems. This position would be responsible for helping to maintain and improve these systems for regular use.
What You’ll Bring:
- Security+ Certification
- Currently holds a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- 3 years of DevOps processes, practices, and tools.
- 3 years of Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- 3 years of Understanding of bash and related scripting tools (shell and/or ansible)
- 3 years of Maintaining applications in a Linux environment
- 3 years of Maintaining applications in a Windows environment
Working Knowledge of the Following:
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Experience maintaining applications in a Linux environment.
- The understanding of bash and related scripting tools (Shell and Ansible).
- Experience maintaining applications in a Windows environment.
- An understanding of DevOps processes, practices, and tools.
- A current Security+ certification.
And These Skills are a Bonus:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience troubleshooting network issues.
- Experience with database use and maintenance.
- Experience with any of the following: Tomcat, Kafka, Openshift, Cloudera, Accumulo.
- Knowledge of the Security Technical Implementation Guide.

Location: Lexington, MA
Work Schedule: This position will be 100% onsite due to the nature of the work. There may be some remote flexibility on a case-by-case basis but there are no regular remote days. Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.
